• Work closely with R n D to determine/predict component and system life using tools such as FMEA,DOE,RCA etc to ensure excellent reliability and extended operating life of the instrument
• Develop subassembly/system level reliability test plans (including sample size,test time, measurement,software user interface) to achieve system reliability and meet specifications
• Determine acceleration factors (eg: usage rate or stress factors) of critical subassemblies and system
• Determine MTBF of critical subassemblies and system that leads to correlation with field return failure rates
• Coordinate testing and work with external test-house to conduct reliability test when necessary (eg: HALT/HASS)
• Analyse failure data and furnish reliability test report
• Support any sustaining activities in relation to reliability planning/conduct testings
• Liase with Product Engineers (EE/ME/SW) to engage contractor to fabricate test fixtures, develop electrical schematics of the test fixture and develop measurement software with automatic failure report and data logging
